Bio

Coach Freeman took over as the head coach of Saddleback track & field prior to the 2026 season.   Previously, Freeman was an assitant coach, assisting with jumps.

Prior to Saddleback, she spent four years as an assistant coach and nine years as the head track and field/ cross country coach at Soka University. While at Soka, Freeman had 38 NAIA national qualifier’s and 10 All-Americans. In 2012 she received the Cal Pac “Coach of the Year” award for the Lion’s national qualifying women’s cross country squad.

Freeman began her career at Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho, competing as a heptathlete.  She was a finalist at the NJCAA nationals in the triple jump.  Freeman went onto compete at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and placed third at the Big West Conference Championships in both long and triple jump. She graduated from Cal Poly with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology.

Freeman began her coaching career at San Luis Obispo High School and Allan Hancock College, assisting in the jumping events.  Following her move to Orange County, she began working for the Scott Boras Corporation coaching professional baseball athletes in strength and conditioning.

Coach Freeman is both a Level 2 USATF Track & Field Coach and Sprints/Hurdle/ Relay Specialist through the USTFCCCCA. She also a certified ACSM Exercise Physiologist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the NSCA. She currently resides in Oceanside, California with her husband Jonathan and their two sons.
