Saddleback has long been one of the better athletic programs in the state when it comes to academics, regularly setting a high standard. This past fall semester the department turned it up a notch when it was announced that nine of the 11 fall programs had a cumulative 3.25 GPA of higher. One program, women's golf, even eclipsed 3.5 with a cumulative 3.52 GPA.
"I couldn't be more proud of the success our student-athletes had in the classroom this past semester," Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics Dan Clauss said. "In addition to the students working hard, our coaches and staff put in countless hours in making sure no stone goes unturned in creating a pathway for academic success."
Saddleback's cumulative GPA during the fall for student-athletes was 3.28. Over 67% of the athletes listed on active rosters achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester.
