Bobcats sweep in the sand

The Saddleback beach volleyball team clinched second place in the Orange Empire Conference Eastern Division with a sweep of Riverside City College and Fullerton College on Friday in Riverside.  

Saddleback knew when they arrived that the key match of the day was the opening match against RCC.  A win in that match would clinch second place in conference play.

Saddleback didn't disappoint, delivering a 5-0 sweep of the Tigers.   Saddleback won two of the matches in straight sets but had to go to a third at the 2's, 3's and 5's. 

Saddleback then made quick work of Fullerton College in the last match of the day.  The Bobcats went to a third set in one of the matches against the Hornets.

The wins put Saddleback and 7-10 overall and 5-5 in Orange Empire Conference Eastern Division play.  The Bobcats finished in second place.
