Two more Cats on the move

The Saddleback football program was back in the news on Thursday with the announcement that two more players have committed to four-year programs.   The Bobcats have had 10 players make decisions since the end of the season.

The two latest commitments came from wide receiver Nicholas Gentilella and defensive back Dominic Lopez. 

Gentilella gave a commitment to Sacred Heart University, located in Fairfield, Connecticut.  The Pioneers will play an NCAA D1 schedule within the Coastal Atlantic Association in 2026 after playing as an FCS Independent program. 

Gentilella finished second on the team with 44 receptions, leading the squad with 717 yards receiving and six touchdowns.  His biggest game of the season came against Mt. San Jacinto College when he posted 115 yards receiving and two scores.

Lopez made a commitment to The University of Texas Permian Basin, located in Odessa, Texas.  The Falcons play an NCAA D2 schedule within the Lone Star Conference and made it to the D2 quarterfinals this past fall.

Lopez finished second on the team with 38 total tackles and tied for third on the team with six tackles-for-loss.  He also was second on the team with five pass break-ups while collecting two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
