Saddleback had a solid start, jumping out to a five-point lead over the first five minutes as Charlie Stallings scored the first eight points of the game for the Bobcats. The Jets then kept things close for the next six minutes, thanks to some hot shooting from the outside.
Saddleback stretched out the lead in the final 10 minutes of the half as they started to heat up from beyond the arc. Jack Monarek drilled a three-pointer with 7:53 left in the half and the Bobcats lead swelled to double-digits at 28-18. Two minutes later Malachi Hiers slammed home a feed from Christopher Williams and the Saddleback lead was 32-20. The advantage remained between nine and 13 points the rest of the half as Saddleback carried a 42-33 lead into the locker rooms at the break.
Saddleback extended the lead to 13 when Mark Reichner made a shot from beyond the arc in the opening minute of the second half for a 48-35 lead. It was the start of a big half for the Bobcats from the outside, as they made 7-of-12 shots from long range over the final 20 minutes.
Saddleback and Miramar combined to make 21-of-44 three-pointers for the night as the Jets were also red hot from the outside. The Bobcats were completely unselfish on the court, finishing with 22 assists. Williams led all players with seven assists for the game.
Saddleback is now 2-2 on the season following the win. The Bobcats will have the rest of the week off before hosting Oxnard College next Tuesday. The Bobcats and Condors are scheduled to start at 5:00 PM inside the gymnasium.
