Men’s tennis makes playoffs, will face defending champs
For the fifth straight season the Saddleback men’s tennis team has qualified for the playoffs after the Southern California Regional Playoffs were announced on Sunday. The Gauchos will travel to Cerritos College on Tuesday to take on the defending state champion Falcons.
For the fifth straight season the Saddleback men's tennis team has qualified for the playoffs after the Southern California Regional Playoffs were announced on Sunday. The Gauchos will travel to Cerritos College on Tuesday to take on the defending state champion Falcons.
Saddleback finished 11-7 overall and tied with Riverside City College for second place in the Orange Empire Conference at 4-4. The Gauchos garnered the 8-seed for the playoffs while RCC was seeded No. 7 and will travel to College of the Desert. Orange Empire Conference champion Irvine Valley College took home the No. 2 seed and will host Ventura College.
It is the fifth straight time and sixth time in the last eight years that Saddleback has qualified for the playoffs under 10th year head coach Bud Davis. The Gauchos and Falcons are scheduled to start at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Cerritos. Saddleback faced Cerritos earlier in the season, playing gamely before falling 5-0 to the Falcons.
