Cats win three at RCC Trny

Saddleback had three solid wins against Riverside City, Grossmont and Citrus to start the tournament before dropping the final game against Long Beach City.
Saddleback dominated the opener, beating Orange Empire Conference rival Riverside City, 20-8, to start the tournament on Friday morning. Jayden Rose (pictured) had an outstanding game, scoring seven goals to pace the offense.
The afternoon game on Friday had Saddleback against Grossmont, a team that had beaten them 11-10 a week earlier in the Saddleback Invitational. The Bobcats bounced back with vengeance, dominating the Griffins with a 17-9 win. Rose and Michael Adams led the team with five goals apiece in the win.
Saddleback opened Saturday with a game against Citrus, who were hosting the tournament due to complications with the RCC pool. The Bobcats felt right at home, blasting the Owls 19-7 to go to 3-0 in the tournament. Adams led the way with five goals while Fin Perry added four for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats dropped the final game to Long Beach, a team ranked No. 5 in the state, 19-4.
Saddleback is now 10-8 overall for the season. The Bobcats host perennial power Golden West College in Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
