The Saddleback men's water polo program was named the No. 10 seed for the upcoming 3C2A Southern California Regional Tournament, which starts on Thursday. It is the fifth straight season the Bobcats have qualified for the regional tournament.
Saddleback finished the regular season 21-15 overall and 4-4 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play following the OEC Tournament this past weekend. The Bobcats were seeded 10th and will face Ventura College on Thursday.
Saddleback and Ventura have faced each other three times this season, with Ventura winning all three games by narrow margins. The Pirates defeated the Bobcats 12-9 in the Golden West Invitational in early September, 15-10 in the Orange Coast Tournament in mid-October and 10-9 at the Southwestern Tournament on Halloween.
Saddleback and Ventura are scheduled to start at 11:15 AM at Southwestern College, the host site of the regional tournament. The winner would face Long Beach City College in the second round on Friday.
