Ayala leads Bobcats in San Diego

The Saddleback men's cross country team picked up a win at the San Diego Kickoff Meet on Friday in San Diego.  Freshman Mike Ayala led the Bobcats.

Ayala crossed the finish line in 16:26 to win the individual medley.  Ayala was four seconds faster than his closest competitor.

Saddleback had two more top-10 finishes from Darin Hoi and Cayden Reish.  Hoi was eighth in a time of 17:12 while Reish was 10^th in a time of 17:14.

Rounding out the team scoring for Saddleback was Justin Boos and Logan Doyle, who finished 17^th and 24^th, respectively. 

Saddleback finished in first place in the team competition after tying Cuyamaca College with 60 points, but were awarded the win in a tiebreaker. 

Saddleback will be back in action on September 13 at the SoCal Preview at Chaffey College.
