Surf wins at Steamer Lane

The Saddleback surf team is hitting its stride at the right time as the Bobcats won event No. 3 of the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) West Coast season at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz.  The Bobcats defeated 30 other teams in gearing up for the Interscholastic State Championships this weekend.

Saddleback finished with 131 points in defeating defending national champion Point Loma Nazarene Gold (113) by a decent margin.  Cal Poly San Luis Obispo-A (112), UCLA-A (96) and Point Loma Nazarene Green (92) rounded out the top five.

Saddleback will participate in the Interscholastic State Championships this weekend in Huntington Beach.
