Cats look solid in opener
The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) 2025-26 collegiate surf season opened this past weekend at Black’s Beach in La Jolla. The Bobcats had a solid performance, finishing third out of 32 colleges in attendance.

Saddleback was dominant in the women's shortboard competition, finishing 1-2. Addison McPhillips (left) took home the hardware for first place while Audrey Denos (right) was second out of 55 competitors in the event. Former Bobcat and two-time national champion Taylor Stacy finished fourth in the event.
Saddleback finished with 120 team points to finish behind Point Loma Nazarene University-A (211) and Westcliff University-Gold (148). The lone other community college in the competition was MiraCosta College, who finished 26th.
Saddleback will be back in the water this weekend at Huntington Beach on Saturday and Sunday.
