Meyer pulls off double-double at state finals
The 2026 track and field season came to a close on Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. Saddleback star Roxanne Meyer was one of the stars of the show, winning two events.
Meyer has been a dominating force all season in the jumps, setting program records in both the long jump and triple jump while leading the state the entire season. Meyer finished the deal on Saturday, cruising to wins in both events.
Meyer leaped 6.21 meters on her fifth attempt of the day to win the long jump by over a foot. The jump also broke her own program record of 6.16 meters set at the Moorpark Invitational.
Meyer wasn't finished, completely dominating the triple jump competition. She had a leap of 12.67 meters (41' 7") on her third attempt to beat her nearest competitor by nearly three feet. It was just shy of her program record of 12.77 meters set at the SoCal Finals.
Saddleback finished 14th in the women's team competition, which was the best finish since 2022 when it finished third.
