Saddleback cruised past Santa Ana on Wednesday, 25-14, 25-12, 25-12 to earn a 14th win for the season.
Saddleback and Santa Ana were even at 4-4 in the opening set before the Bobcats went on a run. Saddleback would outscore the Dons 10-2 over the next few minutes to open up a comfortable lead. They would eventually cruise across the finish line for a 25-14 win in the opening set.
The second set was never close as Saddleback jumped out to a 6-0 lead in route to a 25-12 win. The Bobcats did the same in the third set, jumping out to an 8-3 lead in breezing to another 25-12 victory.
Saddleback finished with a .343 hitting percentage for the night, led by Sadie Holmes. The freshman from Laguna Beach hit on 8-of-11 attempts for a .727 hitting percentage. Delaney Hughes led the team with 35 assists while Keelyn Lopez led the Bobcats on defense with 22 digs.
Saddleback is now 14-5 overall and 10-3 in Orange Empire Conference play following the win. The Bobcats are currently in third place in the Orange Empire Conference, one game back of Golden West and one game in front of Irvine Valley with three games remaining.
Saddleback plays next at Santiago Canyon College on Friday at 6:00 PM.
