WWP splits at RCC Tournament
The women’s water polo team split two games at the Riverside City College Tournament on Friday in Riverside. The Bobcats cruised past Rio Hondo College before losing a tight battle to Santa Barbara City College in the late game.
The women's water polo team split two games at the Riverside City College Tournament on Friday in Riverside. The Bobcats cruised past Rio Hondo College before losing a tight battle to Santa Barbara City College in the late game.
Saddleback had some fun in the opener when they blasted Rio Hondo, 22-1. The Bobcats scored the opening eight goals of the game and led 9-1 after the opening quarter.
Saddleback had a balanced attack on offense against Rio Hondo with Razann Kotarche, Leila Hadhoud and Lily Padilla all scoring four goals apiece.
Saddleback and Santa Barbara then battled for the second time in two weekends and Saddleback was looking for revenge after Santa Barbara defeated Saddleback last weekend at the Orange Coast College Tournament, 20-14. The Bobcats made it a closer game this time around but still came up short on Friday at RCC, 14-11.
Kotarche (pictured) led the scoring in game two for Saddleback, finishing with five goals. The Bobcats fell behind by seven goals in the final quarter of play before rallying down the stretch to make a game of it. Kotarche had three goals in the final three minutes to finish the day with nine goals.
Saddleback will play twice on Saturday in Riverside against San Joaquin Delta College (9:10 AM) and Crafton Hills College (11:30 AM).
