Saddleback had yet another successful season, making it to the regional quarterfinals for a fourth consecutive season under head coach Molly Andrews. The Bobcats have now had 15-or-more wins in four straight seasons, making it to the 3C2A State Tournament on two occasions.
Saddleback came into Friday's matchup ranked No. 7 in Southern California while Santa Barbara was No. 2. The Bobcats were looking for a third straight trip to the state tournament but were denied by a Santa Barbara team that looks primed to make a potential run at a state title.
Santa Barbara scored the first 13 goals of the game and quickly served notice that they were not going to be denied in their attempt to reach the state tournament. The Bobcats got on the board late with four goals, including a pair from Razann Kotarche. The sophomore from Hillcrest High School finished the season with a team-high 102 goals for the season.
Saddleback finishes the season 15-17 overall and 4-4 in Orange Empire Conference play (third place).
