Zerehgar sets school record at state finals
The Saddleback women’s cross-country team was in action on Saturday at the 3C2A Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Sophomore Kiana Zerehgar set the program’s course record in finishing 11th.
The Saddleback women's cross-country team was in action on Saturday at the 3C2A Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Sophomore Kiana Zerehgar set the program's course record in finishing 11th.
Zerehgar has had a tremendous finish to the season and topped it off with an 11th place finish at the state finals on Saturday. Her finish earned her first team all-state recognition and All-America status.
In addition, Zerehgar set a course record when she crossed the finish line of the 5k trek in 18:24.3. It was nearly nine seconds faster than the previous record set by Danna Ibarra Canales and beat her own time from a season ago by 2:52.
Saddleback had two other finishers at the state finals as Shae Barrera finished 62nd (20:04.2) and Adriana Ignash was 161st (23:46.3).
