The Saddleback women's volleyball team had a top-ten moment when they reversed course and came back from a 0-2 deficit to defeat Irvine Valley College, 3-2, on October 5. The Bobcats trailed after (then) top-ranked Irvine Valley won the opening two sets 25-13 and 25-23. Saddleback completely turned the tables on the Lasers, storming back to win the final three sets 25-21, 25-22 and 15-12.
The Bobcats trailed 11-10 in the decisive set before scoring five of the next six points to turn back their rivals. Sydney Brown led the team with 19 kills in 38 attempts. Logan Daniels played well throughout, finishing with 45 assists and 12 digs.
It was a huge win at the time for Saddleback, who had previously been teetering on the bubble of making the post-season playoffs. Ultimately it was a win that would land the Bobcats a spot in the playoffs with the 20th and final seed.
The win improved Saddleback to 10-2 overall and 3-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.
