Men plead the fifth at OEC Finals
Liam Mayer leads the Bobcats
The Saddleback men's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the Orange Empire Conference Finals on Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. The Bobcats had a handful of top-10 finishes at the meet.
Saddleback was led by Liam Mayer, who had multiple top-5 finishes for the day. Mayer finished fifth in both the 100 Individual Medley (57.71) and 200 Freestyle (1:52.39) while finishing 10th in both the 200 Individual Medley (2:06.83) and 200 Freestyle (1:49.17).
Saddleback had another top-5 finish from Tyler Kiklas, who was fifth in the 100 Backstroke (57.86). Kiklas also had seventh place finishes in both the 100 Backstroke (1:01.02) and 200 Backstroke (2:15.58) to collect 24 points for the team.
Two other swimmers collected at least 20 points for the team in James Felker and Fin Perry. Felker's best result was seventh place in the 200 Butterfly (2:06.90) while Perry's best result was a seventh-place finish in the 100 Individual Medley (58.10).
