Ally’s Cats win again

The Saddleback women's soccer team improved to 5-0 with a 3-1 win over Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday afternoon inside the stadium.  Allison Lozano scored a pair of unassisted goals to lead the way.

Saddleback and Santa Barbara was a matchup of two teams ranked in the top 10 in the state in power points, so the game figured to be a tight one from the outset.  Allison Lozano opened the scoring in the 38^th minute when she picked up a loose ball and lofted it over the keeper from 30 yards out for a 1-0 lead.   The Bobcats would take the lead into the locker room, outshooting the Vaqueros 5-3 in the half.

Santa Barbara answered quickly in the second frame when Zoe Minnery picked up a loose ball and blasted a shot into the right side of the net to tie the game in the 48^th minute.  Saddleback wasted no time in responding when Lozano stole a ball from a Santa Barbara defender and lofted another ball over the keeper's head for her second goal of the game in the 49^th minute for a 2-1 lead.

Saddleback put the game on ice in the 81^st minute when Jinan Said stole the ball from the keeper and scored her third goal of the season for a 3-1 lead.

Saddleback controlled play for most of the second half, finishing the game with a 17-8 advantage in total shots.  The Bobcats split time at goalkeeper, with Cameron Simmons playing the opening half and Maycie Pugh playing the second half.

Saddleback is now 5-0 to start the season.  The Bobcats will have next week off before playing at Long Beach City College on September 23.  Saddleback and Long Beach City are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
