Women fourth at OEC Finals
Delaney Cowan has electric results at OEC Finals
The Saddleback women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at the Orange Empire Conference Finals on Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. The Bobcats were led by Delaney Cowan.
Saddleback improved dramatically down the stretch and picked up 404 points at the OEC Finals on Saturday with only nine swimmers in the pool. Cowan was the headliner, competing for a conference title in three separate events. She picked up 50 points for the team by finishing second in both the 400 Individual Medley (4:51.89) and 200 Butterfly (2:19.34) while finishing third in the 100 Butterfly (1:02.54). Her time in the 200 Butterfly was the third fastest time in program history while her time in the 400 Individual Medley ranks fifth all-time.
Another solid performance was turned in by Tatum O'Brien, who had three finishes in the top five. O'Brien was fourth in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:11.47) and 200 Breaststroke (2:38.50) while finishing fifth in the 1,650 Freestyle race (20:08.59).
Leila Hadhoud was a workhorse for the Bobcats, placing in the top-10 in five separate events. Hadhoud's best finishes were fourth-place finishes in both the 100 Freestyle (1:01.94) and 200 Freestyle (2:14.58).
Saddleback had one other top five finish from Elle Clark, who was fifth in the 100 Individual Medley (1:06.73).
