Catnip Award #5…Men’s Golf Second at State

It is that time of year when the Saddleback sports information department produces the top-10 high points in Saddleback College athletics for the calendar year.  Catnip Award No. 5 for 2022 goes to – Men's Golf Second at State.

The 2022 men's golf season was one to remember as the Bobcats finished second at the state finals after winning the Orange Empire Conference championship.  It was the best finish for the program since finishing second in 2008.

Saddleback was five shots back of College of the Canyons heading into the final round of the season.  The Bobcats made a charge, but came up just short in an attempt at a seventh state title.

Saddleback's best round of the season came on April 4 when it shot -1 (359) as a team, which was the lowest round since shooting 356 at the state finals in 2007. 

Zach Stout set a new program record when he shot -7 (65) at Temecula Creek Golf Club in Temecula.
